Née en 1985 à Cape Cod, MAL
Vit et travaille à Brooklyn, NY

Les tapisseries à grande échelle d’Erin M. Riley, méticuleusement réalisées, dépeignent une imagerie intime, érotique et psychologiquement crue qui reflète les relations, les souvenirs, les fantasmes, la violence sexuelle et les traumatismes. En assemblant des photographies personnelles, des images trouvées sur Internet, des coupures de journaux et d’autres documents éphémères pour créer ses compositions, la tisserande basée à Brooklyn expose l’éventail des expériences vécues par les femmes et la manière dont les traumatismes pèsent sur la recherche de l’identité personnelle.

Erin M. Riley a obtenu une licence au Massachusetts College of Art and Design et une maîtrise à la Tyler School of Art. Son travail a récemment été présenté au Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, CT, à la 16e Biennale d’art contemporain de Lyon, au Museion, Bolzano, Italie, ainsi qu’au MassArt, Boston, MA.
