cadet capela is pleased to announce the opening of American artist Ernesto Burgos’s debut solo exhibition in France, titled Cat’s Tongue.
It is through his works’ fluid contours and dynamic and textured strokes that the artist explores the viewer’s relationship to the sensitive sphere.
Like a cat’s tongue, the artworks are ambivalent, supple and rough while the asymmetrical construction gives an almost organic impression of movement to the pieces. In a game of synaesthesia, the Cat’s Tongue exhibition translates a gesture which, much like Proust’s Madeleine, arouses in the observer a tactile memory.
