About

cadet capela, established by Julien Cadet and Mathieu Capela in 2018, is a multi-spaces art gallery. Born from the shared vision and friendly bond of two art enthusiasts, the gallery originated from a desire to create an eclectic space for the artists they deeply admired, artists unseen on the Parisian stage.

The gallery prides itself on representing a map of emerging and renowned artists, foreign and European. This international perspective enriches the gallery’s cultural dialogue and contributes to its vibrant and eclectic program.

From its early days as a nomadic entity, setting up exhibitions in various spaces, cadet capela opened their first permanent location at 54 rue Chapon in the heart of Paris in 2020, followed by a second space at 13 rue Béranger in 2022, allowing larger-scale exhibitions and a deeper engagement with the art community, providing artists with two distinct spaces that cater to their creative needs.

With an average of fourteen exhibitions per year, cadet capela’s commitment extends beyond the gallery space, and actively supports its artists through the creation of limited editions and printed catalogs, as well as collaborations with prestigious institutions such as the Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid on the occasion of Jordy Kerwick first european solo exhibition in 2023.

Rooted in the rich cultural landscape of Paris while maintaining a strong international presence, cadet capela remains dedicated to its mission of offering a bold, eclectic, and surprising program.

Since 2021, cadet capela participated in international art fairs such as Art Brussels, ART SG in Singapore, Untitled Miami and Westbund Shanghai amongst others.
Cadet capela is a member of the Comite Professionnel des Galeries d’Art.
