Lives and works in Queens, New York, US

Sarah Peters holds an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Post-Secondary Diploma in Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Diploma of Professional Qualification from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. The artist is the recipient of awards and residencies from the John Michael Kohler Museum of Art (Wisconsin) and the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), NY (2011); the Fine Arts Work Center, Provincetown, Massachusetts (2010); and the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation Space Program, Brooklyn, NY (2008). Solo and two-person exhibitions include Halsey McKay Gallery, New York, NY (2017); Eleven Rivington Gallery, New York (2015); 4 h, New York (2015); “Bodyrite” (with Mira Dancy) at Asya Geisberg Gallery, NY (2014); Edward Winkleman Gallery, NY (2007, 2010); and John Davis Art Gallery, Hudson New York (2013). Group exhibitions she has participated in include “Objects Like Us” at the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art in Ridgefield, Connecticut, curated by Amy Smith-Stewart and David Adamo (2018); at Eva Presenhuber Gallery in Zurich, Switzerland (2018); and “Rodin and the Contemporary Figurative Tradition” at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan (2017), to name but a few. His work has been reviewed and featured in publications such as The New York Times, Art in America, Artforum and The Brooklyn Rail.
